There
are basically five human senses or sensory tools by which we experience the
material world. The human eyes, ear, nose, mouth and basically the human hands
gives us the experience of sight, noise, smell, taste and touch which makes us
perceive that the material world is the only living reality. Is the material
world real and why do we receive the material world as the only existing
reality? The smallest living particle, The God Particle,to the human body, to the biggest planet in the entire Universe
which may be a million times bigger than planet earth is nothing but pure
energy. The human senses deludes us and converts this entire Universe of pure
energy into an illusory material reality. The highs and lows of the human body,
that sudden jerk experienced before sensual encounters, the perfectly chiselled
facial structures of your soulmate, the soft and husky voice of your flame, the
manly aromatic odor that emanates off your hubby’s body and that passionate feel you get when you run
your fingers along the contours of your spouses body are nothing but
expressions of energy and the result the varying compositions of energy
creates. Pure energy in the form of senses driven, illusory material reality,
deludes us so much that we cling on to material pursuits and pleasures in search of external means of happiness till
the very day we don’t shed our mortal body from earthly realm.
One
of the five causes of human suffering is clinging on to transient and unreal
things. We go on clinging on to temporary and unreal things because the human
senses play a villainous role in obscuring the presence of the eternal, our real essence, and makes us
believe in illusory notions such as
money and sensual gratification as the storehouse of everlasting
happiness and fulfillment. Mr.Dipak Chopra confides and advises us human beings, “Sensory
experiences are totally illusory”, "How long can you cling on to a world of
illusion?"The sensory experiences we get from the human senses are unreal and
temporary and gets us tranquilised depending upon the quality, make-up and
composition of the concerned material tranquiliser. The material possessions
helps us keep ourselves happy as long as we have them and start lamenting for
want of it the moment we lose possession. The human senses clings us and makes
us dependent on material possessions for external happiness as long as we don’t
realize our essence as Divine beings and start longing for that internal source
of joy and happiness which keeps us happy without a single external cause or
reason. Tapping onto our internal spiritual reservoir makes us masters of our
soul and stops us from being slaves to the real dictatorial and tyrannical
illusory existence in a human life, the human senses.
The
human senses obscures the real and makes us identified with the unreal. The
human senses makes us believe that being born, getting a sound education,
pursuing a suitable career, falling in
love, getting married, having children, owning a fast car, building
ourselves a bungalow, possessing a multi-million dollar bank account and
finally shedding our mortal body perceiving that we have achieved everything a
human could ever aspire for are the only worthwhile accomplishments in human life. It
is only when God converts us into great devotees of His, when God snatches our
most prized happiness and gives us immense suffering and when God nudges us to
inquire the reason behind our existence as human beings that we realize the
role our senses have been playing into blackmailing us to believe that our
material pursuits and possessions are the direct medium to happiness. Getting
identified with the material world through the human senses only gives us
temporary happiness and further gives us immense suffering once we get defeated
in material pursuits. In fact, seeking the material world through the human
senses keeps us circling in the wheel of human life, the vicious circle of
suffering, till that very moment we don’t realize that we are actually Divine
and not human beings born to fulfill the one and only ultimate task in our
lives, of getting to realize our Self
and abiding in God forever.
The
moment we, Divine beings, become free of the clutches of the senses or the
moment we transcend the powers of the human senses by transcending the fourth
spiritual plane is the beginning of the dawn of everlasting happiness in our
lives. The powers of the human intellect and the function of the physical body which
are part and parcel of the human senses
and which which imprisons us within the boundaries of the illusory so-called
material reality are transcended the moment we go beyond the human senses and
we start travelling into higher and higher planes of a phonyless, authentic
sainthood.
How
do we transcend the human senses? Countless meditators are stuck in the first
three stages of consciousness because they lack the necessary drive to uplift
themselves into higher spiritual planes. There were innumerable devices created
by God for me to make me realize my true essence as a Divine being, realizing
the Ultimate goal in my life and the techniques needed for a very committed
approach to practice meditation. Once a spiritual journey is started, the only qualities of prime
importance needed to excel in your spiritual endeavour are “passion” and the
“necessary drive”, two qualities needed for a successful spiritual journey. One of the most powerful techniques
to make spiritual growth quicker is always to meditate very seriously. If you
don’t take your meditative sessions for granted but meditate very seriously
everytime you sit down for meditation you will soon realize how powerful the
technique “meditating seriously” is all about. Dont ever expect to hasten
meditative growth because the more you expect to speed up meditative growth the
more slower spiritual growth happens. Take your initiative to meditate seriously
as only a means for facilitating spiritual growth.
So
the only way to transcend the human senses and get into the field of
everlasting happiness forever would be to employ the powers of meditation. You
will realize after transcending the human senses that external causes of
happiness are not the real cause of genuine happiness but that reviving your
soul or real nature is the only cause for authentic happiness, which does not
have to depend on external means to be happy but is happy without a cause or
reason.
The
human senses imprisons us into the wheel of suffering, a world of illusion,
whereas the fully awake human soul sets us free from the bondage to the human
senses and sets us on a roller-coaster ride of everlasting happiness till the
moment we don’t shed our mortal bodies. The human senses entangles whereas the
fully awake human soul unshackles. We, with our meditative prowess see the need
for the human senses to be tamed for the field of everlasting happiness to be
gained.
