Do we have an independent will?

Our role as human beings is far less important compared to the Will of God. God or the Ultimate Authority is the doer whereas we are not the doer,  we are not the roles we play. Since God preplans and executes all actions on our behalf,  including on the behalf of Enlightened beings, all of our so-called independent will is dependent on the Infinite Will of God. Even the Will of the enlightened beings are dependent on the Supreme Will of God. So  we can assume that our role as human beings, Self-Realised or Enlightened beings is insignificant compared to the role of Brahman, God or the most Supreme Godhead. Since our will is dependent on the Will of God, we are mere insignificant or indirect medium of the Divine Mother, who is the direct medium and whose Will it is that is  significant and responsible for everything that happens to the most minute  sub-atomic detail in the entire expanse of the Cosmos. In a way, being confident for everything in our lives including the fruits of our actions is not right because confidence is a God like word and used to denote the super divine qualities of God. Being confident is like holding ourselves responsible for our actions for which we are not responsible in any manner. The best option would be to be optimistic,  positive for our actions and hope and pray for good times ahead in our lives.

So what is this dependent will of ours that  is dependent on the Ultimate Will of God  all about.

“All the world is a stage and the men and women,  merely players.”

                                                                                                                         -William Shakespeare

Planet earth including the entire manifested Universe is a stage, platform for Gods leela or play to be executed and we, human beings, are only players who enact the various roles designated for us by the Divine Mother.God is the director, the world is a stage and we are only actors. Since God is the director, it is His Supreme Will that ultimately executes various roles for us, human beings to play. Since it is Gods will which is responsible for our insignificant will no human beings should be held account for their actions which in a more direct manner emphasizes that no one should be judged or blamed for their actions right from the thought to the word and deed level. Human actions no matter how unjust or sinful  cannot be condemned but should be accepted with the calm of a ships captain who maneuvers his ship with great calm during the heavy storms and the rough sea.

Since we now know that we are not endowed with an independent will and that our will is dependent on the Will of God we must learn to adapt to the Ultimate authority of God in our lives  by abiding by His Will in a wholehearted manner. Now if you say what is that superhuman tool which makes us submit to his Will fully, this scribe says, it is the fully restored awareness developed by transcending the fifth plane.Unless and until, we don’t have awareness restored fully there can never ever be a state of wholehearted surrender to the Infinite Will of the Infinite Being. The state of the dormant soul awareness can do nothing better than aid doubt the Infinite Will everytime suffering and sorrow is contacted. Our lives are filled with great peace, bliss and happiness once we learn to accept Gods Will through our awakened and fully alive souls. There will be no rooms left for a single complaint once we are Self-Realised  and start abiding by the fifth law fully. So our so-called independent will which makes us elated everytime good fortune is met, feel ourselves with great pride when our offsprings excel and which makes us see colourful butterflies flutter around our heads when our soulmate plants that most affectionate peck on our lips is none other than the Supreme, Ultimate and the Infinite Will of the Infinite Being.

The state of the dormant human soul deludes us so much about our           so-called independent will that we lament the moment sorrow makes us sorrowful, be anxious when great failure and misfortune is met, get a high everytime we cling on to our addictive behaviours, get a turn on by the senses driven stunning good looks of our soulmates,  and inflate our ego and start being arrogant when great fame and fortune is achieved. Our so-called independent will is such that we get identified, label the highs and lows of our lives accordingly. Great seeds of humility is planted and we become egolessly driven and learn to live our lives in great equanimity once we become fully aware, forever realizing  that we don’t have an independent will, rather that our so-called will is dependent on the Will of God. Once we realize that we don’t have an independent existence but that our will is a dependent one, we start accepting the polarities like joy and sorrow, love and hate, happiness and suffering with great calmness and in a state of wholehearted surrender. Realizing the dawn of the state where we realize we don’t have an independent will but a very dependent essence is the dawn of the first signs of humility, simplicity, equanimity and an egoless identity. So if someone superstitiously believes that Buddha has the veto power to convert someone into a world teacher, there is no such thing as someone endowed with an independent veto power.

One famous Australian outlaw uttered "Such is life" before being hanged for his ruthless crimes,  Javed Akhter penned  “Jindagi mein yoonhi hota hai” or “Life happens in the most unexpected manner” for the movie Jindagi Na Milengi Dobara. Jesus thought it an unjust act for people to make him die on the cross and was reminded by God to harbor no complaints against the inhuman act because it was his Supreme Will by which he was dying on the cross. Someone once said that  “Life is a cosmic joke”.  I had a friend who had a favourite quote which sounded something like "Life is a comedy if you think but a tragedy if you feel". I would like to modify this saying into something like "Life  is a comedy for the spiritualists but a tragedy for the materialists". It takes a realistically trained and weather beaten human mind to take the highs and lows of ones life in great poise,  which happens only in the exceptional few cases but to take both joy and sorrow, happiness and suffering in equal stride throughout ones life needs the aid of a spiritually awakened soul. So the best option for normal human beings to take in the Infinite Will wholeheartedly would be to take the Will of God in a very very positive manner.

The ordinary mortals should be positive enough to accept the Infinite Will positively and the spiritual beings should utilize their superhuman spiritual capacities to help  uplift the Divine status of spiritually unevolved human beings. Seeds of  an egoless identity, humility, simplicity and equanimity need to be established into our  dormant human soul by reinvigorating it with spiritual discipline for us to accept the Ultimate Will on which we are all dependent to sustain the wheel of life. Human will which is dependent on the Supreme Will of God can only be completely accepted if we are wise enough to be able to restore the otherwise dormant human soul with full awareness. Let us not take Gods Will for granted, while away our full spiritual potential but awaken to rejuvenate our dormant human soul  and be in a position to accept the Infinite Will fully so that our lives are infused with great peace, bliss and harmony.

Let us learn to live a life of great  poise by being aware that we are undertaking a life, which is the Infinite Will of God,  and let us also awaken to the eternal fact that each and every human being are ultimately dependent on the Will of God without which human life is unsustainable.
